Designed in 1985 by Joel White, the Haven 12 1/2 has since drawn the interest of small-boat builders from around the world. Plans for this handsome sailer are among the most popular at the WoodenBoat Store with hundreds sold. To celebrate spring and the start of another exciting boating season, we’re giving away a set of printed plans and a copy of Maynard Bray’s How to Build the Haven 12 1/2-Footer in our latest contest.

Hundreds of Havens have been built by both amateur and professional builders over the years, including a few in our own fleet at the WoodenBoat School. Plans include eight sheets, plus one page of additional notes from Joel White. Each step in the process is carefully explained and illustrated in Maynard Bray’s book, giving you a thorough guide. While this project involves a lot of work, the result is a very fair hull and a strong boat.
