For more of their work\, see www.edheaton.com or www.zachheaton.net.\n\nThe Annual Assembly of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association will be held at Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smiths\, New York\, within the grounds of Adirondack Park. The event begins on the afternoon of  Tuesday July 11 and continues until Sunday July 16. \nPre-registration is due by June 20\, 2017. Registration fee for adults is $20 per day or $75 for the whole event. There is plenty going on all week\, including birdwatching excursions\, children’s events\, raffles\, campfires\, and of course\, paddling expeditions. Learn all about paddle carving or how to make folding seats\, backrests\, and packbaskets.  Find out about in canoeing techniques\,  poling\, photography\, wilderness lore\, and lapstrake canoe building. \nLodging is available on campus in the dormitories or at the Paul Smith College Alumni Campground for an additional fee. Meals are available at the Student Center dining hall. Pre-registrants can pay by the meal or buy the full meal plan in advance. DESCRIPTION:Now in its seventh year\, the Portland Wooden Boat Festival celebrates the final day of a Family Boat Building weekend\, sponsored by RiversWest Small Craft Center and the Willamette Sailing Club. The event\, which takes place on the banks of the Willamette River\, will celebrate the families and teams\, each building a Salt Water Bay skiff\, with mentoring from expert wooden boat builders. Saturday morning the teams receive their kits of supplies and commence building. Sunday afternoon they will launch their finished boats. \nCALL FOR WOODEN BOATS:\nOn Sunday the festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes a display of wooden boats from local boat builders and owners. Space is available on the grounds for canoes\, kayaks and boats on trailers\, as well as dock space for larger vessels. There is no charge to display a boat\, but you must be registered before the event.
