The Catspaw is Joel White’s adaptation of a Nat Herreschoff design from over a century ago. She has a cedar hull with epoxy and fiberglas over, two layers on the bottom, a white oak keel and mahogany trim. The hardware is all brass or silicon bronze. She sports a spritsail rig with a new 65 sq. ft. Nat Wilson sail.
She can be sailed or rowed easily by one person, but can seat six comfortably. There are two rowing stations.
The two spars are of solid Douglas Fir with glass sleeves epoxied over. The spars fit inside the boat for easy handling and storage. It can be rigged easily by one person. The boat weighs about 200 lbs. The included trailer has new bearings, new tongue jack, new lights and wiring. She can be towed easily even with a small car.
