Buzzards Bay 1 (17′9″ on deck)

A traditional Herreshoff in a fiberglass hull and deck, but with plenty of varnished mahogany; the famous 12 1/2’s big brother. Full keel stability and tradition.
Bufflehead has been ours since she was built as hull #1 on Cape Cod by R&M Marine. I saw her at the Boston Boat show and fell in love.
I recently stripped the varnish (cockpit, coamings, and bow cleat) and applied 10 coats of Epiphanes Gloss. Teak sole and toe rail are left bare, as is the aft deck.
Sails are original but washed and checked over the winter by our local loft. Sails are fine but probably getting a little tired (they are original). Sail covers and cockpit cover are also in good shape.
Includes a 2 hp Honda mounted on a bronze stern bracket; motor professionally serviced each winter.
Also includes a Triad aluminum trailer with 8’ tongue extension for deeper launching ramps, an anchor and rode, fenders, dock lines, a bulkhead mounted compass, and an auto bilge pump (solar + battery).
A great boat – as lovely to sail as she is to admire. Ready to launch when you are.
